Web hosting refers to the service of storing your web site on a server that is setup with your domain for anyone and everyone to visit. Mail hosting is simply the act of setting up your domain to serve various mail accounts at your domain (ie, bob_smith@yourdomain.com). FTP services are mostly utilized by your web professional, however, FTP service can also be valuable if you need to transfer larger files to and from your network or workstation, hence the name File Transfer Protocol.
